Amazon Hazmat / Dangerous Goods SDS
Did Amazon flag your product as hazmat and ask for a Safety Data Sheet? Whatever your product is, whatever hazard class it falls into, we author compliant 16-section Safety Data Sheets for every category of dangerous goods sold on Amazon. Our SDS service delivers accurate GHS classification, correct Section 14 transport designation, and a print-ready PDF matched to your listing, so you stay listed and shipping.
If Your Product Fits a Specific Category, Start There
We have dedicated SDS product pages for the most common Amazon hazmat categories. Each page covers the specific chemistry, classification drivers, and regulatory boundaries for that product type. If your product fits one of these, the category-specific page gives you the most relevant information:
- Personal care and cosmetics: Perfume & Fragrance, Hair Care (Spray / Dye), Sunscreen, Deodorant & Antiperspirant, Hand Sanitizer, Skincare & Lotion, Makeup / Color Cosmetics, Nail Polish & Remover.
- Fragrance and home: Essential Oil, Fragrance Oil, Diffuser Oil, Candle, Air Freshener.
- Cleaning and household: Detergent & Soap, Bleach & Oxidizer.
- Automotive and industrial: Car Care Chemical, Motor Oil & Lubricant, Paint & Coating, Glue & Adhesive, Epoxy & UV Resin.
- Garden and outdoor: Pool & Spa Chemical, Fertilizer, Pesticide & Insecticide.
- Aerosol and pressurised: Aerosol Spray, Compressed / Pressurized Gas.
- Health and supplements: Supplement & Vitamin, Topical OTC Product, Flea & Tick Treatment, Pet Grooming Spray.

What We Classify Accurately
Regardless of product category, every SDS we author follows the same rigorous process:
- Full GHS hazard classification across all physical, health, and environmental hazard classes, not just the obvious ones.
- Component identification in Section 3, every classified component listed by chemical name and CAS number at its concentration, not hidden behind generic trade names.
- Hazard statements and precautionary statements matched to the specific classification, not copied from a template.
- Section 9 (Physical and Chemical Properties) with flash point, pH, viscosity, vapour pressure, and other data relevant to the specific product.
- Section 10 (Stability and Reactivity) with incompatibilities specific to the product chemistry, not a generic "avoid strong acids and bases" line.
- Section 14 (Transport Information) with the correct UN number, proper shipping name, hazard class, packing group, and any subsidiary risks or special provisions.
- Section 15 (Regulatory Information) with US federal and state regulations (TSCA, SARA 302/304/311/312/313, CERCLA, California Prop 65) and international listings (EU REACH, EINECS, Canada DSL/NDSL) applicable to your target markets.
Every GHS Hazard Class Covered
We classify across the full GHS system:
- Physical hazards: flammable liquids, flammable solids, flammable gases, aerosols, oxidizers, organic peroxides, self-reactive substances, pyrophoric materials, self-heating substances, water-reactive substances, corrosive to metals, gases under pressure, chemicals under pressure (HazCom 2024).
- Health hazards: acute toxicity (oral, dermal, inhalation), skin corrosion/irritation, serious eye damage/irritation, respiratory sensitisation, skin sensitisation, germ cell mutagenicity, carcinogenicity, reproductive toxicity, STOT-SE, STOT-RE, aspiration hazard.
- Environmental hazards: acute aquatic toxicity, chronic aquatic toxicity, hazardous to the ozone layer.
Transport Classification: Section 14
We classify across all nine DOT/UN hazard classes:
- Class 1, explosives (not typically sold on Amazon).
- Class 2, gases (compressed, liquefied, dissolved, aerosols).
- Class 3, flammable liquids.
- Class 4, flammable solids, spontaneously combustible, water-reactive.
- Class 5, oxidizers and organic peroxides.
- Class 6, toxic and infectious substances.
- Class 7, radioactive (not typically sold on Amazon).
- Class 8, corrosives.
- Class 9, miscellaneous dangerous goods (lithium batteries, environmentally hazardous substances).
- Not regulated for transport, where that is the correct answer.
Each SDS includes the correct UN number, proper shipping name, hazard class, packing group, and applicable limited-quantity or excepted-quantity provisions. Amazon FBA has specific restrictions for each hazard class; getting Section 14 right avoids both listing suppression and freight rejection.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I use this page or one of the category-specific pages?
If your product fits one of our category-specific pages (perfume, hair care, bleach, motor oil, aerosol, lithium battery, etc.), start there. Those pages cover the specific chemistry, regulatory boundaries, and classification nuances for each product type. If your product does not fit any category, or you are not sure, use this page. We will classify accurately either way.
What information do I need to provide?
The full formulation or ingredient list with concentrations is ideal. If you do not have a full formulation, send us whatever you have: the ingredient list from your label, your supplier's existing SDS, a technical data sheet, or the product details from your manufacturer. The more detail you provide, the more accurate the SDS.
Can you author an SDS for a product I am importing?
Yes. Many of our clients are importers bringing products into the US, EU, UK, Canada, or Australia. If your supplier has provided a Chinese, Indian, or other non-English SDS, we can review it and author a compliant SDS for your target market, matched to your brand and Amazon listing.
What if my product is not actually hazardous?
If we review your product and determine it is genuinely non-hazardous, we will tell you and recommend our Non-Hazmat Exemption Sheet instead. We do not author an SDS for a product that does not need one. The exemption sheet is the correct document for a non-hazardous product.
Do you cover all five major markets?
Yes. We author SDS to US OSHA HazCom 2024, EU REACH/CLP, UK REACH and GB CLP, Canada's Amended HPR (WHMIS), and Australia's WHS Regulations. Our Multi-Region SDS Package covers SDS for several markets in a single order.
How long does it take?
Standard, fast, and 24-hour priority turnaround are available. Complex multi-component formulations take longer than simple single-component products. We will confirm turnaround when we receive your product details.
Add the Hazmat / Dangerous Goods SDS to your cart and choose your turnaround, or contact us with your product details, we will classify accurately across all GHS categories and have your SDS ready for Amazon review and freight booking.
What Is a Safety Data Sheet (SDS)?
A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is a standardized document that provides detailed information about the safe handling, storage, transportation, and emergency measures related to chemical products. It includes data on hazards, composition, first-aid measures, and regulatory compliance, helping businesses maintain workplace safety and meet legal requirements.
